HYDERABAD: BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha, the daughter of Chief Minister K.
Chandrashekar Rao, on Thursday strongly denied having any links with conman Sukesh Chandrashekar. In a media statement, she refuted the allegations of having WhatsApp chatting with Sukesh, who is an accused in a money laundering case. She alleged that the BJP was using Sukesh as a ploy to defame BRS and CM.

"Some anti-Telangana forces, who are unable to digest the growing popularity of the BRS and are unable to face its president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao politically, are creating the fake chats with help of some media houses and YouTube channels. The circulation of these fake news is a deliberate attempt to malign the image of the BRS party,” Kavitha said.
"I don’t even know who Sukesh Chandrasekhar is. I have no acquaintance with him," she said.

She wondered as to how BJP MLA M. Raghunandan Rao had given credence to a letter purported to have been written by an economic offender like Sukesh and complain to the Election Commission against the BRS.

"Based on that, BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind started indulging in
mudslinging against me on social media. This is a huge conspiracy to malign me,"  she said.

However, in a media statement, Anant Malik, the advocate for Sukesh, said, "The response issued by Kavitha is a very juvenile reaction to serious concerns raised by my client Sukesh. Sukesh has even supported his claims on an Affidavit and further give a Certificate of Section 65B under the Indian Evidence Act regarding the digital evidence being brought forward."

Instead of welcoming a fair probe into the matter, it is crystal clear that she is trying to run away from the probe by offering vague denials, which do not hold much water, Malik said.
