Hyderabad: The government needs to acquire about 20 per cent of the land required for the Pharma City project from the forest department.
As per the rules, whenever the government takes lands from the forest department, it must provide alternative land in the same district.
When the project was put forth before the forest department last year, forest officials claimed that most of the land identified for Pharma City was under their possession.
“This land was earlier given to the forest department in lieu of land taken to develop industrial areas in RR district,” a source said.
