The Water Board attributed the loss to the high rate of evaporation and regular drawal of water. Following this the state government has directed the Water Board to make necessary arrangements for emergency pumping of water. The arrangement will facilitate drawing water from the dead storage from Yellampally barrage. The water at the barrage is sufficient till the end of June.

The Water Board  is supplying 85 million gallons a day  from Godavari Phase-I, which is being drawn from the Yellampally barrage.
