Diesel tanker explosion victim succumbs

Police said that Shiva had received 35 per cent burns and was under treatment at a private hospital.

Hyderabad: Shiva Kumar, 26, who was injured in the diesel tanker explosion in January, succumbed to his burns on Sunday. Police said that Shiva had received 35 per cent burns and was under treatment at a private hospital. Shiva was an electrician by profession.

On January 12, a diesel tanker exploded when two brothers in collusion with others were pilfering the diesel near a mechanic shed when  sparks from welding came in contact with the fuel, leading to the explosion after small barrels of diesel were lit one after the other. Three days after the incident, Venkatesh an RTC employee, had also succumbed to burns.
