Kochi: Global Ayurveda meet on August 6, 7

The conference will host about 60 resource persons from across the world and 1,000 delegates are expected.

KOLLAM: Amrita School of Ayurveda will organise ‘Amrita Samyogam 2017’, an international conference on integrative ayurveda and modern medicine on August 6 and 7 in collaboration with Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) in Kochi. The conference to be held at AIMS is an attempt to bring together Allopathic and Ayurvedic practitioners as well as modern scientists together on a common platform. The conference will host about 60 resource persons from across the world and 1,000 delegates are expected to attend.  The major focus areas of the conference are identifying areas and strategies for collaborative integration of allopathy and ayurveda in the management of specific diseases is the major goal of the conference.

This is expected to be achieved by evidence based practice guidelines for cross referrals and combination therapy including well-designed rigorous clinical trials to validate clearly spelt out guidelines for mutual cross referrals as well as combination therapy in specific diseases, understanding mechanism of action — basic science studies with the reverse pharmacology approach to understand the biological mechanisms underlying the validated clinical practices for integrative care, integration with modern technology in ayurvedic diagnostics, treatment procedures as well as drug delivery. The conference will have a special focus on Cancer, Diabetes, Rheumatology, Neurodegenerative Diseases and Mental Health.
