CM Pinarayi Vijayan opens short stay home

KOZHIKODE: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated a short stay home built in memory of the late trade union leader C.H. Ashokan near Government Medical College Hospital here on Saturday. Mr Vijayan appreciated the efforts of the NGO Union district committee for providing short stay facility for patients coming from remote places. "Accommodation here has always been a concern especially for the economically weaker people having no relatives here,” said mayor Thottathil Raveendran.
"They could not afford hotels during the treatment, and some are forced to live on the hospital premises. It would give them a comfortable place to stay." The short stay home will permit a bystander and the patient to stay there for more than three days as the treatment demands. It will also provide all essential facilities, including three meals a day free of cost. Transport minister A.K. Saseendran, NGO Union president P. H. M. Ismail, general secretary T.C. Mathukutty and district secretary P. Ajaykumar were also present at the function.
