Kottayam: The first state committee meeting of the Kerala Congress (M) after leaving the UDF will be held  at the Mammen  Mappila hall here on Sunday afternoon. The meeting is likely to discuss the party’s future course of action after it decided to sit as a separate bloc  in the Assembly. According to  KC (M) sources,  the party will evaluate the current developments, including the welcome accorded to it by  leaders of the  LDF  and the  NDA.

KC (M) general secretary Joy Abraham MP said that the state committee meeting will ratify the decisions taken by the Charalkunnu conclave, including severing its 34-year-old alliance with the  UDF. Mr  P.J. Joseph and Mons Joseph, MLAs, have opposed the party joining  the NDA and also said that it should not remain alone without any alliance.
