Jagan to Hoist National Flag, Address Public to Mark I-D at Indira Gandhi Stadium
Governor Nazeer to Host at Home in Raj Bhavan
VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would hoist the national flag to mark Independence Day at the Indira Gandhi municipal stadium grounds here on Tuesday.
The CM will accept the guard of honour from the armed forces and address the people. Tableaux from various departments will be on display at the event.
The officials advised the invitees and those having Pass to arrive at the venue early and be seated by 8 am so that the I-D celebrations could commence at 9 am.
At 5.30 pm, Governor S. Abdul Nazeer would host an ‘At Home’ at Raj Bhavan in the presence of CM Jagan Mohan Reddy. Governor Nazeer greeted the people of Andhra Pradesh on the occasion of the 77th Independence Day.
In a statement from Raj Bhavan on Monday, the Governor said, “Independence Day is a day of remembrance of all those great freedom fighters whose sacrifice has paved the way for us to enjoy the fruits of freedom. A day of rededication to the noble ideals of truth, non-violence, peace, solidarity and brotherhood which inspired our national struggle for freedom. On this auspicious day, let us pledge ourselves to rededicate to the cause of nation- building.”
