Traders wage a war against people: Kummanam Rajasekharan

Thrissur: The move of the Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi (KVVES) to shut down their shops indefinitely from Tuesday citing issue due to demonetisation of rupees 1,000 and 500 notes was a protest against the public, BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan has said. Mr Rajasekharan, who was here to attend a function of Sahakar Bharati, a pro-RSS co-operative sector organstion on Sunday, told media persons that the KVVES, finance minister Thomas Issac and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan were doing scaremongering by making certain statements over demonetisation.

“This is a major reform in the financial sector and hence the public will be made to suffer a bit,” he said. “Now, the parties opposing the BJP are showing intolerance to the move of the Union government for curbing black money and fake notes.” The BJP leader said the RBI needed to do whatever necessary for making available notes of different denominations to the public. “Such a major change in the finance and banking sector in the country would come along only with certain difficulty and people should have their confidence in the Prime Minister,” he said. “While several chief ministers have welcomed the move, the UDF and the LDF in Kerala are politicizing and opposing it.”
