Senior AG office staff jailed for taking bribe

A case has been registered against him and after verification of all the evidences, a sentence will be pronounced.

Hyderabad: A senior accountant working at the AG’s office in Lakdi-ka-Pul has been convicted by the Special Court for CBI cases.

The III additional principle special judge for CBI cases sentenced Haridas Narasimha Raju to four years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 for each Section that he was charged.

In the case registered against him by the CBI in April 2015, Haridas had demanded Rs 1 lakh as a bribe for processing pension to the victim after the death of his mother, who was working as a Health Assistant in Medical and Health department in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Government.

He was caught red-handed while accepting an advance of Rs 25,000. A case has been registered against him and after verification of all the evidences, a sentence will be pronounced.
