Bengaluru: Depressed techie jumps to death

Bengaluru: Depressed over life, a 31-year-old software engineer jumped to his death from the 12th floor of his office in Mahadevapura on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Amlan Burman, hailing from Assam. He was working with Mphasis, an IT services company.

The incident occurred at around 1.45 pm, when Amlan went to the coffee shop situated on the 12th floor of the office premises during lunch break and allegedly took the extreme step, police said.

Investigations reveal that Amlan was staying with his mother in Mahadevapoura and working in the firm for the last one year.  Police said he was suffering from depression and undergoing treatment.

He had come to work on Thursday, after taking leave for two days, and was keeping to himself.

The police have recovered his phone and are questioning the colleagues to ascertain the exact reason behind his extreme step.
