Atrocities on Dalits increased under YSRC government, alleges Naidu
VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu claimed on Friday that the Telugu Desam worked largely for development of the Dalits by giving them a prominent place in government and party while the YSRC government’s term saw several attacks and atrocities against Dalits.
Alleging that a ‘ganja culture’ is spreading in the state under the rule of Jagan Reddy, Naidu asked the people to unite and remove AP from the clutches of Jagan.
Addressing the Pastors at a meeting in Gudivada, Chandrababau said Christians and their organisations served the society but they also got a bad deal under this “corrupt” chief minister. “Scared of Jagan, several Christians are surrendering their properties and establishments to him. The Christian Bhavan built by the TD government has been converted into a quarantine centre by Jagan.”
Naidu said Jagan Mohan Reddy has become the richest chief minister in the country and his wealth is growing by the day while the common man who voted for him are left in poor living conditions.
"Jagan Mohan Reddy has discontinued all the welfare schemes introduced by the TD government for Christians," and said, and called upon the Christians to join hands with the TD that would form the next government. Churches would be made a platform to eliminate poverty,” he said.
Chandrababu assured the Pastors, "As a leader, I have come here to have first-hand information on the problems and issues that Christians are facing, besides to know your perspective on present-day matters. TD always discusses the issues with different sections of the people and we accept your suggestions and advices."
Naidu said the TD government had released funds for the repair of churches. Later Naidu participated in roadshows in Gudivada and Hanuman Junction and a public meeting at Nuzvid.
