Odisha girl among top 50 in UK poetry contest
She had sent her poems to the UK Tourism Department through social media platform for the international poetry competition.
KORAPUT: Odisha girl Anindita Janhavi Suara from Koraput district has made the state proud in field of literature by participating in an international poetry competition conducted online by the United Kingdom’s Tourism Department.
Anindita is the only girl from India among 50 contestants to represent the country in international poetry competition.
The Plus Two student of Vikram Deo College in Jeypore is all set to try her luck to gain recognition from popular poets for her poems written in English.
She had sent her poems to the UK Tourism Department through social media platform for the international poetry competition.
Clearing many phases, Anindita’s poems were selected for final round.
She emerged as one of the top contestants on online voting. The lines are open for online voting for the favourite poems and budding poets till September 25.
“It was a worldwide participation. Over 20,000 had participated in the competition in which I am in the top 50. I wish to be in top 5 in the final round to make my country proud in UK Tourism Department,” said Anindita.
