Adilabad attracting many tourists this monsoon

ADILABAD: Lohara and Khandala ghats and their valleys in Adilabad Rural mandal are the new tourist spots attracting tourists with their scenic beauty, especially during the monsoon; apart from Kuntala and Pochera waterfalls in the erstwhile Adilabad district.

There are many waterfalls that are not known to the outer world in Adilabad district till now. Understandably so, as they are somewhat difficult to access. Likewise, there are ghats, valleys and forests too. One among such spots is Dharloddi waterfalls, just two km from Khandala ghat. The best time to visit it is one or two days after a good rain. However, tourists have to be careful while visiting Dharloddi, as there is every possibility of encountering wild animals.

Seeing the tourist potential, TSRTC is operating several bus services from Hyderabad, Nizamabad and Adilabad bus stands.

Adilabad RTC regional manager Sudha Parimala said there is good response to tourism bus services from Hyderabad to Pochera and Kuntala waterfalls.

A tourist Jagan Mohan Rao, retired tahasildar of Dilsuknagar in Hyderabad, who came along with his family member under the RTC tourism package, said Kuntala and Pochera waterfalls can in many ways be considered as local Niagara Falls. He said they enjoyed their trip a lot.

Nature lovers say it will be good if RTC extends its special bus services on weekends to Khandala ghat, which is just 22 km from Adilabad town.

Ade Ravuji of Dharloddi village in Adilabad Rural mandal said Khandala and Lohara ghats are turning prominent for tourists these days. He said more tourists are certain to arrive at these places once Dharloddi waterfalls are made accessible to tourists.
