Hyderabad: District education officials issued notices to schools that reopened on Monday despite the government order extending the Dasara holidays till October 19.
Contingent of officials started visiting various schools to check whether they were running any classes despite the government order.
Wherever they found schools functioning, officials warned the authorities that recognition of the school would be cancelled, following which the schools sent off the children to their homes after calling their parents.
Officials said they were lenient with the schools that functioned on Monday. “As it was the first day, we just warned them. From tomorrow onwards, we will take strict action,” an official said.
Owing to the extension of holidays, the schedule of Summative Asses-sment-1 has been revised. According to the academic calendar, the exams were to start from October 21.
However, as it would be difficult for students to sit for exams on the reopening day itself, exams scheduled on October 21 and 22 have been postponed to October 29 and 30.
The schedule for rest of the exams would remain the same, said a statement released by the Commissioner of School Education.
