HMDA Seeks HC to Clear its Claim Over 50 Acres Land in Shamshabad
The High Court Registry found that the orders were not issued by the HC and the case number mentioned was not registered in 1998
Hyderabad: The state government on Friday requested the Telangana High Court to close all cases filed by two persons who had fraudulently claimed ownership - by submitting forged court documents - of about 50 acres of government land in Survey No. 725 and its parts in Shamshabad village and municipality, valued at about Rs 1,000 crore.
The government also asked the court to issue appropriate directions to take criminal action against the duo.
Mohammed Qureshi of Falaknuma and another person, who claimed ownership of the land, approached the High Court stating that the HMDA was without authorisation interfering with their properties. Stating that their ancestors had bought these land parcels from the Paigah nobles, they filed orders purportedly issued by the High Court in 1998 that restrained the HMDA.
The High Court Registry found that the orders were not issued by the High Court and the case number mentioned was not registered in 1998.
The High Court on September 30 asked the petitioners and the HMDA to state their stands. On Friday, the private persons sought more time. The court adjourned the matter to three weeks.
