Kakinada: Former Rajamahendravaram MP Vundavalli Aruna Kumar demanded a CBI inquiry into the Skill Development scam on Saturday, saying that it is necessary to bring out the facts of the case.

Kumar told the media that the scam took place when N. Chandrababu Naidu was the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh from 2014 to 2019. He said that the files relating to the scam are missing and that the issue has become a national debate.

Kumar said that the scam came to light during a GST inquiry at Pune and that Siemens has denied any involvement. He added that the GST officials who signed the agreement with Siemens were not employees of the company.

Kumar said that the GST wrote to the state government about the scam when Naidu was the chief minister, but that Naidu took no action. He also questioned why Naidu has not filed a bail petition, even though the judge sent him to remand after thoroughly verifying the evidence.

Kumar said that if Naidu wants to walk or read books in jail, there are many facilities available. He also criticised TD leaders for abusing the judge who sent Naidu to remand.
