Bengaluru: A carnival for children

Cuemath launched a Mathematical Universe' for students of pre-school to class 2, class 3-5 and grades 6-8.

Bengaluru: Children in the city enjoyed a carnival atmosphere on Monday with different events lined up for them across venues as part of Children’s Day celebrations. 

Students showcased their talent in different competitions, such as dancing, singing, quiz, public speaking (extempore), painting, and essay at ‘Colours of Life Sinchana’, organised by Colours of Life, an NGO, LXL Ideas, an education consultant platform, and Embassy Group. Children's Scrappy News Service, which aims to create opportunities for children in the news service, was launched by the Going To School, an NGO, in the city along with other parts of the country. “Scrappy News is all good news about what can be done to make the world a better place, bringing children to lead the revolution from the front,” said Lisa Heydlauff, Founder, Going To School. 

Cuemath, an after-school learning programme in the city, launched a ‘Mathematical Universe’ for students of pre-school to class 2, class 3-5 and grades 6-8. 

Government school teachers and students were introduced to a large chunk of reading material across Indian languages at ‘Kathavana – Children’s Literature Festival’, organised by the Azim Premji Foundation. 

The event held at National College Grounds, Basavangudi, brought together children, storytellers, publishers, teachers, academics and other educators.
