TSRTC issued notice in pending payment case

The petition alleged that the TSRTC was not releasing the funds despite the lock-in period for the deposits elapsing

Hyderabad: Justice Khaja Sharat of Telangana High Court on Monday issued notices to the TSRTC over a plea filed by its employees’ union alleging non-payment of deposits amounting to Rs 905 crore.

The petition — filed by TSRTC’s person incharge committee member Battu Das Rao — alleged that the TSRTC recovered and withheld funds from the society’s members. It listed the principal amount of Rs 639,69,77,679 and a total of Rs 904.1 crore, along with interest.

The petition alleged that the TSRTC was not releasing the funds despite the lock-in period for the deposits elapsing.

The court issued notices to TSRTC vice chairman and MD V.C. Sajjanar, chief manager (finance and accounts) and commissioner and registrar of cooperative societies, seeking a response by November 21.
