Fire in Furniture Shop, Goods Worth Rs 2 Lakh Gutted

Hyderabad: A fire took place in a furniture shop at Ek Minar Masjid, Nampally, early on Wednesday. No one was injured in the accident. Property worth Rs two lakh was gutted in the fire.

The blaze occurred in Anees ul Ghurba building in Nampally at 5.20 am and spread due to a bonfire lit by the workers there, a fire officer said. The bonfire was close to the shop which sold used furnitures.

The workers left the place without extinguishing the bonfire that spread into the shop which was partially damaged. Three autorickshaws parked there were also gutted.

“We received the fire call at 5.20 am and rushed two fire tenders to the spot and within 10 minutes took control of the fire”, a fire official said.

“Property worth Rs two lakh was destroyed in the fire, our firefighters tactfully extinguished the blaze preventing any further damage to other shops that were worth Rs 10 lakh”, he added. Nampally police have registered a case and are investigating the mishap.
