Kurnool: Opposed to doctors conducting a post-mortem examination on his relative, a man tried to make away with the body at the Nandyal Government Hospital in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday
According to sources, Narayana, 20, a daily wage agriculture labourer and native of Govindinne in Dornipadu mandal had attempted suicide by consuming pesticide. It is said that failure in a love affair had led to the attempt.
His parents immediately shifted him to the Nandyal Government Hospital where the doctors said he was dead. The police then directed the family to shift the body to the postmortem room. The family refused and argued with police as well as hospital staff and tension prevailed for some time.
Suddenly, two of the relatives took the body outside of the hospital and escaped on a motorcycle. The police followed them and caught them near flyover in the town and brought the body to the hospital.
Later the doctors conducted a postmortem and body was handed over to relatives, a police official stated.
