SCR’s first pilgrimage package tour set for March 18 departure
Hyderabad: The South Central Railway will roll out its first Bharat Gaurav service, Punyakshetra Yatra, on Saturday, officials said. The train is a package trip to the important religious destinations of Puri, Konark, Gaya, Varanasi, Ayodhya and Prayagraj.
SCR General Manager Arun Kumar Jain said the Punyakshetra Yatra is an eight-night-nine-day tour, with the first tour set from March 18 to 26. It is an IRCTC service to facilitate travel to historical and pilgrimage destinations in one go, he said.
Passengers can board and deboard at the Secunderabad, Kazipet, Khammam, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram stations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Arun Kumar said, “This train avoids all the difficulties in individually planning and making all travel related arrangements, like suitable trains, accommodation, food etc. This train service comes with an all-inclusive package so that the passengers need not worry about all those arrangements as the IRCTC, which has adequate experience in this field, has designed the tour programme taking all the factors into consideration. This provides comfortable, safe and secure travel option.”
