CM Jagan to attend Iftar programme in Vijayawada

VIJAYAWADA: Fool-proof security arrangements have been made for the Ramzan Iftar programme of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that would see the presence of several eminent personalities here on Monday.

The Iftar Dinner is organised by the state government at the mini stadium in One- Town Vidyadharapuram.

The police imposed restrictions on traffic in the city. As per the present schedule, the CM would leave his Tadepalli residence at 5.30pm and reach Vidyadharapuram mini stadium at 5.45pm. He will participate in the Iftar from 5.45pm to 7.15pm and reach Tadepalli residence at 7.30pm.

City police commissioner KR Tata said traffic diversion will be in effect from 4pm to 7pm. No vehicle will be allowed from Jojinagar Junction to Sitara Center and from Sitara Center to Jojinagar Junction. All vehicles coming from Gollapudi Y Junction towards Sitara, Chittinagar will be diverted towards Kabela at Atkinson School Road.

The vehicles going towards Gollapudi, HB Colony, Urmilanagar from Chittinagar direction will be diverted to Kummaripalem or Kabela at Sitara junction.

As for APSRTC, the buses from YSR Colony/Milk Project/Kabela towards Kaleswara Rao Market will be diverted from 4pm to 7pm to Kabela-Urmila Nagar-Jojinagar Church Junction-Swati Junction-Kanaka Durga Flyover Service Road –Kummaripalem –Ghat Road Canal route.

For the convenience of pass holders and their vehicles, several parking spaces are provided. The A1 pass holders can reach upto VMC Stadium. They can park their vehicles in Vidyadharapuram RTC depot. The Muslim brothers coming for Iftar should come up to Sitara Centre/Bhagwati Kata and park their cars and bikes in the designated parking areas opposite VMC Stadium. All the invitees with passes should reach the stadium by 5.30pm, the commissioner said.

Invitees coming to the Iftar dinner are advised not to park their vehicles in the vicinity of Vidyadharapuram VMC Stadium and not to disturb the movement of other invitees. They are urged to cooperate with the police by following traffic diversion and parking instructions.
