Bengaluru: The state cabinet on Wednesday dropped plans to convert Carlton House, a heritage building, into Constitution Club, despite pressure from Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa and legislators. The decision was taken based on a report submitted by the home ministry.
The cabinet decided to scout for another place to house the club. Law minister T.B. Jayachandra said that it would not be appropriate to tamper with the heritage building, which houses the CID headquarters, and to relocate the entire investigation department establishment.
