Nizam Family Welfare Association kin wants mint as museum

President of the association said the coinage and currency notes of the Asaf Jahi period and prior to it were appreciated for their design & quality.

Hyderabad: The Nizam Family Welfare Association has demanded that the government convert the old Mint building at Saifabad into a heritage into a royal mint museum.

Mr Najaf Ali Khan, president of the association, said the coinage and currency notes of the Asaf Jahi period and prior to it were appreciated for their design and quality. “The mint at the Saifabad was constructed in 1903 on the lines of Europeans mint and was adept with quality machinery and experts. The government should open up the old mint compound and set up a numismatics and royal mint museum,” he said.
