Hyderabad: Three killed, bike hit by earthmover
The inspector said Balreddy was wearing a helmet but was run over along with his wife and daughter.
Hyderabad: Three members of a family were killed and a boy survived with injuries when the bike they were travelling on towards Shamshabad after celebrating Rakhi at Chevella was hit by an earthmover under the Moinabad limits on Thursday evening.
The victims were identified as Pocharam Balreddy, 38, employee in a private company, along with his wife P. Jyothi, 35 and daughter P. Siri, 10. Their son Sai Charan survived.
Police said the victims, natives of Subhanpur in Kothur mandal, were returning home at Shamshabad when a speeding earthmover going towards Chevella hit their bike near Nakkalpally.
Moinabad inspector G. Venkateshwarlu said Balreddy, Jyothi and Siri were run over by the earthmover while Sai Charan fell on the roadside and suffered minor injuries. He was admitted to a nearby private hospital and will be handed over to his relatives.
The inspector said Balreddy was wearing a helmet but was run over along with his wife and daughter. The driver of the earthmover abandoned the vehicle and escaped. Police has booked a case and is on the look-out for the driver.
