Artillery Centre inaugurates Veer Dharma Sarovar' at Golconda fort
HYDERABAD: Artillery Centre, Hyderabad, on Tuesday, inaugurated the Veer Dharma Sarovar, a pond built under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav ‘Amrit Sarovar’ project. Covering 1.31 acres, the pond, officially called DB No 67 is constructed at the foot of the hill on which the Golconda fort stands.
Commandant of the Artillery Centre Hyderabad, Brigadier Rajiv Chauhan, unveiled the pond in a poignant ceremony.
Designed as part of a rainwater harvesting effort, the pond is expected to contribute towards water conservation efforts. "The Veer Dharma Sarovar is not only a symbol of honour but also a sustainable initiative. It stands as a testament to the Centre’s commitment to preserving the environment and securing the nation's water resources for future generations," an official statement read.
Ex-servicemen and local panchayat representatives were present at the event, to mark the importance of community engagement and collaboration in fostering a sense of unity and patriotism.
