HYDERABAD: The two-judge bench of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice T. Vinod Kumar on Wednesday reserved its verdict on a petition alleging violation in adherence to rules of reservation for NCC candidates in recruitment to police services. The petitioner alleged that preference has not been given to candidates who hold NCC C-certificate over NCC B or A-certificates for appointment to police services. The bench was hearing a writ plea filed by T. Shravan inter alia seeking a direction to set aside a government order issued in April 2022. In the course of the hearing, the petitioner alleged that in earlier years, such leverage was enjoyed by candidates but unfortunately, this was discontinued this year, which is arbitrary and discriminatory. The bench, considering the submissions of both counsels, reserved the matter for delivery of judgment.

Justice Chillakur Sumalatha of the Telangana High Court on Wednesday adjourned for technical reasons a writ plea seeking the appointment of a board of trustees to the Chilkur Balaji temple. The petitioner further contended that the matter of trustee board composition holds significant importance in the administration and management of religious institutions.
