Organs of brain dead Telangana man donated under Jeevandan Scheme
He was rushed to Hyderabad for treatment and was undergoing treatment at Global Hospitals.
HYDERABAD: Organs of 36-year-old Kanumuri Seetharamaraju, who was declared brain dead, were donated under the Jeevandan Scheme of the government. A resident of Kukatpally, Seetharamaraju had met with an accident in Solapur, where he was working.
He was rushed to Hyderabad for treatment and was undergoing treatment at Global Hospitals. Seetharamaraju could not recover and was declared brain dead on Monday. His wife Naga Swetha and family members agreed to donate his two kidneys, liver, heart, lungs and cornea under the government’s Jeev andan scheme.
Hyderabad Traffic Police provided a green channel for transportation of the live heart from Global Hospital, Lakdikapul, to Care Hospital, Banjara Hills. The stretch of 3.6 km was covered in just four minutes – leaving Global at 9.32 p.m. and reaching Care at 9.36 p.m.
