Hyderabad: All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen chief and Hyderabad Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday took strong objection to India playing cricket match against Pakistan when the terrorists trained by the neighbouring country have been on a killing spree in Kashmir.

Speaking to mediapersons here, Owaisi said the match is being played in Narendra Modi stadium in Gujarat. “How would the BJP reacted if it is not in power,” he said and questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence over repeated attacks.

Owaisi condemned the Anantnag incident in which two Army officers and a local police official were gunned down by the terrorists. “Bharatiya Janata Party claimed to have wiped out terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir by scrapping Article 370 but the bitter truth remains that Pakistan-trained terrorists have been claiming lives of Kashmiri Pandits, civilians and Army personnel,” he said.

Referring to Pulwama attack before 2019 polls, the Majlis chief wondered why Prime Minister who was aggressive and exhibited his aggression openly was silent even after series of attacks in Galwan, where 20 soldiers including a colonel from Telangana was also killed, as well as in Poonch in October 2021, Rajori in August 2022 and Pokarnath in September of last year.

On the special session, Owaisi said the agenda was already out and he would only wish that BJP does not spring a surprise with a new agenda and get it passed with brute majority defeating the spirit of Parliamentary democracy. What is the purpose of sessions if MPs do not come prepared, he said. Making light of the Congress Working Committee meet in city, he said with elections approaching every political party would hold some or the other programmes. “What difference do they make,” he asked.
