Transco chief pats staff for work in rain

Hyderabad: Transco and Genco chairman and managing director D. Prabhakar Rao asked officials and staff to remain on high alert in the wake of heavy rain being witnessed in Hyderabad and the state and ensure uninterrupted power supply.
He lauded the efforts of officials and staff for ensuring uninterrupted power supply in the city by attending to problems at the ground level on a war footing even in adverse weather conditions.
Mr Rao was speaking at a meeting of Diploma Engineers Association on Sunday.
“The precautionary measures we have taken this time to ensure proper power supply during rain based on past experience have yielded good results. Though there was heavy rain, there were no power disruptions,” he said.
He said all power lines had been inspected before the monsoon, old conductors replaced and tree branches obstructing power lines were removed.
