Martyrs honoured at EME Corps Day

HYDERABAD: MCEME Commandant Lt Gen J.S. Sidana laid a wreath at the EME War Memorial at Secunderabad and paid homage to those who sacrificed their lives for the nation, to commemorate the 80th Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) Corps Day on Saturday.

A ‘Special Sainik Sammelan' was held at the Military College of EME on the occasion.

The wreath-laying ceremony was attended by serving and retired officers, JCOs and other ranks of EME along with their families. At Special Sainik Sammelan, Lt Gen Sidana, who is the Colonel Commandant, Corps of EME, exhorted all ranks to continue to strive for excellence and live up to the Corps’ motto of ‘Karm hi Dharm (Work is Worship)’.

In the last eight decades, the Corps of EME has carved out a niche for itself in almost every domain, whether it is provision of equipment sustenance to the entire spectrum of weapons and equipment of the Indian Army, technology absorption, indigenisation efforts as part of the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, sports and adventure or any other arena, he said.

Lt Gen Sidhana complimented all ranks of EME for their outstanding contribution in different spheres and expressed the confidence that they would continue to find practical solutions to the problem statements of the Army. He felicitated some of the officers, JCOs and other ranks who excelled in different domains.
