No coercive steps against TS BSP chief RS Praveen Kumar : HC tells police
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Thursday directed the police against taking coercive steps, including arrest, on BSP state chief R.S. Praveen Kumar, in a criminal case registered against him over clash between his supporters and those of the BRS in Kagaznagar on November 12.
Justice K. Surender passed the order while dealing with a criminal petition filed by Praveen Kumar, seeking a direction to quash an FIR registered against him. He requested the court to stall all proceedings in the case.
Praveen Kumar submitted to the court that the police were biased and dancing to the tune of the BRS leaders. He submitted that without any evidence and without any weapon found at the crime scene, the police registered the FIR charging him with attempt to murder, dacoit and other criminal offences.
