SCR Promoting One Station One Product' at 109 of Stations

Vijayawada: South Central Railway (SCR) is promoting locally produced goods at 109 of its stations as part of “One Station One Product (OSOP)” campaign of Indian Railways.

SCR general manager Arun Kumar Jain said the scheme has helped 4,200 artisans in selling their products under OSOP through 41 stalls in Telangana, 56 stalls in Andhra Pradesh, 20 stalls in Maharashtra and three stalls in Karnataka.

Arun Kumar Jain said local artisans are receiving a major boost as a result.

Some of the products in Telangana sold at railway stations including Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Kacheguda, Warangal, Nizamabad and Gadwal are Narayanpet, Gadwal and Pochampalli sarees, millet-based food products, local delicacies, Bhadrachalam bamboo crafts, idols of deities, handicrafts and Nirmal toys.

In Andhra Pradesh, including at Vijayawada, Tirupati, Kurnool, Guntur, Anantapur, and Nellore railway stations, the products sold are jute articles, Kalamkari fabrics, Etikoppaka toys, handmade wooden cutlery and millet-based foods.

In Vijayawada Division, there are 20 stalls and four trolleys marketing OSOP products through 23 stations.

In Maharashtra, including at Nanded, Aurangabad, Himayatnagar, Nagarsol and Mudkhed, products of local artisans being promoted are handlooms, mats, Rajgira laddu, jowar powder and papads.

At Bidar, Yadgir and Raichur railway stations in Karnataka, products being promoted are handloom sarees, Bidri handicrafts and handmade jewellery.

Arun Kumar Jain encouraged local artisans to utilise the opportunity provided by railways under the One Station One Product.
