Churches in Hyderabad usher in pre-Christmas celebrations
The families of the clergy and office bearers participate and a token of appreciation is given
Hyderabad: The Centenary Methodist Church's coordination committee and clergy ushered in pre-Christmas celebrations.
The church, which was founded in 1877, is one of the city's oldest, with services in a variety of regional languages in addition to English.
During the celebrations, Bishop M.A. Daniel, resident bishop of the Hyderabad Regional Conference, preached a message of love, peace, and brotherhood, as well as explaining why Jesus Christ came to this world.
On the occasion, pastor Joseph Christopher said, "This is one of the events that has been going on for several decades, where the clergy's family and the office bearer's families participate and a token of appreciation is given."
In another event at Centenary Baptist church, near Clock Tower, the fifth anniversary of Christmas celebration of ‘Joy to the world’, a Christmas musical night, 'Yesu Nama Gana Sabha' was organised by musician and composer, Dr Ezra Shastry.
