Blood stains in vice-principal's room at Nehru College of Engineering

Thrissur: Officers of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the suicide of Jishnu Pranoy suicide case on Thursday found blood stains in the room of Nehru College of Engineering’s vice-principal K.N. Sakthivel during the last round of inspection at the college before reopening on Friday. Stains were also found in the bathroom of the hostel were Jishnu was found hanging. According to the investigation report, Jishnu was brutally assaulted in the vice-principal’s rooms before he committed suicide in the hostel bathroom on January 6.
It is learnt from sources close to the college that the team has inspected the room of the vice-principal, PRO Sanjith K. Viswanath and the bathroom of the hostel where Jishnu was found hanging. District police chief N. Vijaykumar said that blood stains had been found in two rooms of the college during inspection by SIT head ASP Kiran Narayanan and other officers with the help of forensic experts. “As of now I can't confirm where the blood stains were found. The recovered blood stains have been sent for forensic examination,” he said.
SIT members said that they have asked the forensic laboratory to provide test results of blood stains at the earliest and if the samples are found to be that of Jishnu, the case would take a new turn. The new findings become relevant as Jishnu’s family member have been saying that his death was not a suicide and he was beaten to death by college authorities.
