Driver runs car amok in Kakinada, injures 10
KAKINADA: The driver of a car ran his vehicle amok on the main road in Kakinada city on Thursday. His car crashed into several vehicles parked on the side, injuring 10 and causing panic in the area.
A video of the car going amok became viral on social media.
According to Three Town police, the car driver M. Raju had been coming from Chodavaram in Anakapalli district to Kakinada for picking up his owner’s relatives staying at Jagannadhapuram.
He lost control of his car, and hit a two-wheeler, a car and several other vehicles. 10 persons suffered injuries. Three Town police said five persons have been hospitalised.
Police suspect the car driver might have been drunk. But driver Raju told police he has no habit of consuming liquor. But he does chew pan parag and tobacco products. Raju said because of this, he may have lost control of his vehicle.
Three Town assistant sub-inspector B. Veerabbayi has registered a case and is investigating.
