HYDERABAD: BJP senior leader Gudur Narayana Reddy alleged that there were major irregularities in the land acquisition for the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR). To favour BRS leaders, the alignment of the road was being changed and this was causing loss to small farmers in the Bhuvanagiri Assembly constituency, he said.

Narayana Reddy was speaking to the media after meeting Union minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday in Delhi and lodging a complaint in this regard.

Narayana Reddy said that the Centre had clearly directed the state government to construct the RRR beyond the HMDA limits. However, BRS leaders were pressurising revenue officials to bring the RRR to the HMDA limits, he said.

Irregularities in the RRR construction would result in Raigiri town in the Bhuvanagiri Assembly constituency vanishing, he said. To protect their land, BRS leaders were changing the alignment of the road which was causing a loss to small farmers.

Narayana Reddy urged Gadkari minister to appoint a special officer to look after the Regional Ring Road construction and prevent any irregularities by the BRS government.
