MCT chief wants Tirupati cricket stadium completed

Tirupati: Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) commissioner Anupama Anjali on Thursday instructed officials to complete construction of the cricket stadium in Gollavanigunta area of the city as early as possible.

The commissioner, along with officials of the engineering wing, checked out the ongoing works at the cricket stadium as well as the bund at Gollavanigunta.

She wanted the boundary wall of the cricket stadium to be completed first, so that stray animals cannot enter the stadium.

Anupama Anjali asked officials to complete the drainage canal adjacent to the stadium first, so that storm water does not stagnate in the stadium. She also inspected construction of dressing and rest rooms inside the stadium.

The civic chief suggested that lights be installed along the median of the bund for the convenience of walkers and joggers in the area.
