KOCHI: The Committee spearheading the Anti-LPG Terminal project at Puthuvypen has decided to intensify the struggle while condemning the police action against people protesting at the High Court Jn on Friday. Speaking to reporters, MP Jaya Ghosh alleged a conspiracy in the police action against over 100 people while coming towards HC Jn. “The barbaric act of the police is responsible for vitiating the atmosphere”, said Ghosh. The police action was without any provocation and several people, including women and children, were injured, he added.

“The Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan should own up responsibility for the police action”, he said. The police also arrested several activists including CR Neelakandan, state convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in connection with the protest on Friday. A protest meeting has also been planned at Goshree Jn on Saturday against the police action. The action council spearheading the agitation has raised concerns over the safety of setting up a terminal in a thickly populated region such as Puthuvypen.
