City youngster to peddle across India to create awareness on voting rights
HYDERABAD: A youngster from the city, Osman Faizan Ali, will embark on a bicycle yatra and proposes to cover all 543 Lok Sabha constituencies in the country to sensitise the people on the right of vote.
The yatra will commence here on June 25. He has covered the Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Malkajgiri and Medak constituencies on a pilot basis.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Ali said, “I will create awareness on the value of a vote and about democratic values during my interaction with the people.”
“The cycle yatra will culminate at Tripura before the 2024 general elections. I will be covering 50,000 km,” he said.
Ali said that he had attempted the civil services exam but was unsuccessful.
“At that point in time, I realized that my ultimate goal was to enlighten the downtrodden and tribal people,” he said. He said that he had met Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj and sought his support for the voter awareness campaign.
