Thiruvananthapuram Corporation seizes 450 kg plastic bags

There will be stricter measures and by August 1, squads led by Mayor and various Standing Committee Chairpersons will start functioning

Thiruvananthapuram: As part of enforcing the ban on plastic carry bags under 50 microns, 450 kilograms of plastic carry bags were seized by Corporation officials on Saturday. These were seized from 350 shops and commercial establishments in Fort, Sasthamangalam, Ulloor, Medical College, Chenthitta and Tirumala. There will be stricter measures and by August 1, squads led by Mayor and various Standing Committee Chairpersons will start functioning, according to a press release issued from the Mayor’s office.
