Moka Vijay Kumar's millet art gets praise from PM

VISAKHAPATNAM: Visakhapatnam-based artist Moka Vijay Kumar’s siridhanyalu paintings, which were on display in the International Convention Centres in Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad as part of the G20 Summit, have drawn critical acclaim.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a keen interest in Kumar's creations, notably a painting featuring President Droupadi Murmu alongside millets. This artwork depicted the hardships faced by Indian farmers and tried to spark awareness and empathy among viewers regarding the pivotal role of millets in Indian agriculture.

Kumar's paintings focused on portraying the lives of Indian farmers. Foreign ambassadors and dignitaries commended him for his depiction of raw emotions and vivid storytelling.

The crowning jewel of the exhibition was a two-foot-tall Ganapati Idol made of siridhanyalu (millet grains) and natural colours.
