Kodiyeri Balakrishnan demands action against Saroj Pandey, Manohar Parikkar
Saroj Pandey, BJP general secy, had threatened to gouge eyes out of CPM cadre' in Delhi.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP general secretary Saroj Pandey on Monday threatened that if CPM workers continued to stare down at them their eyes would be gouged out. She issued the threat while speaking at the BJP protest outside CPM headquarters AKG Bhawan in Delhi. “Our party president Amit Shah has kicked off the janaraksha yatra in Kerala with this purpose,” she said. The BJP leader from Chattisgarh reminded the CPM that her party was ruling the Centre. “Our party has over 11 crore members. It is the biggest political party in the world. If the attacks on the BJP workers continue in Kerala, the centre will force to intervene,” she said.
Pandey said if required the CPM-led LDF government would be dismissed by the Centre. The former national president of Mahila Morcha said the governments in Kerala and West Bengal should protect democracy. Meanwhile, reacting to Pandey’s statement, CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said the BJP leader had given an open call for unleashing violence against their workers. She is trying to incite BJP workers to gouge out the eyes of CPM workers. A case should be registered against the BJP leader for inciting violence. He, however, said that the BJP may be ruling at the Centre but it would not be able to touch the CPM workers. The party was prepared to fight the fascist policies of the BJP and RSS.
Kodiyeri said the call for violence was out of desperation due to Janaraksha yatra's failure. "They have realised that their propaganda is not going to work in Kerala. The lukewarm response from the people to BJP yathra has caused frustration in the BJP," he added. The CPM state secretary urged the Prime Minister to take action against Goa chief minister Manohar Parikkar for making an offending statement against the democratically elected government in the state. Parikkar had stated in Kollam the other day that Kerala was being ruled by scoundrels.
