HYDERABAD: The principal CBI court at Hyderabad on Monday rejected the discharge petitions filed by some accused persons in illegal mining by Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) of Gali Janardhan Reddy.

CBI court judge Ch. Ramesh Babu dismissed the petitions filed by minister P. Sabitha Indira Reddy, senior IAS officer of AP cadre Y. Sri Lakshmi and retired officials of the mines department V.D. Rajagopal, Krupanandam and others.
The court also rejected the discharge petition filed by Mehafus Ali Khan, PA to Janardhan Reddy.

The court also made it clear that charges will be framed in the case, as the discharge petitions were disposed of.

The CBI registered the case in 2009, accusing that OMC and Janardhan Reddy had changed mining lease boundary markings between Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

Janardhan Reddy had also filed the discharge petition, but he withdrew earlier. Apart from him, his wife was also accused in the case. But, she was discharged from the case.
