Single window: BBMP to take up 2,000 works

BENGALURU: BBMP plans to call short-term tenders for 2,401 works in 198 wards under the single window system at a cost of Rs 465 crore.

Disclosing this to media persons on Wednesday Bhadre Gowda, President, BBMP ward level works standing committee said, “A list has been prepared on the emergency works to be taken up at every ward. Tender notification will be issued on November 25 and December 9 will be the last date to participate in the tender process. By December 25 works will commence.”

To carry out emergency works at the ward level, Rs 465 crore has been reserved in the budget. An amount of Rs 2 crore has been reserved for old BBMP wards and Rs 3 crore for new BBMP wards, he explained.

Admitting that there was a delay in calling of tenders, Gowda said, “Eight months have passed after the BBMP budget. Within the next four months, the amount reserved for the ward level works have to be utilised.” He further added that those contractors who fail to complete the works in the given time will be blacklisted.
