Midnight Scooter Chase Leads to Rs 37 Lakh Cash Seizure by Charminar Police

Hyderabad: The Charminar police seized Rs 37 lakh unaccounted cash from two persons on Thursday midnight. In another instance, Central Zone task force sleuths seized Rs 10 lakh cash at Goshamahal on Friday. The cash was handed over to the income-tax department.

Charminar police said that during vehicle checking at Deewan Dewdi, they intercepted a scooter. On checking a hand bag in the possession of the riders, G. Marri Raj Kumar and G. Arun Kumar, police found the Rs 37 lakh. They did not have documents for the cash, and did not give proper answers.

In the second instance, task force sleuths intercepted a scooter and seized Rs 10 lakh cash from V. Chandrashekar, managing partner at Sheper Paper Pvt. Ltd, Uppal, and his employee. The money was said to be part of a hawala transaction.
