Nizamabad: Case Filed Against Community Elders for Social Boycott

Nizamabad: Police set up a picket in Shetpally of Morthad mandal on Saturday after the Munnuru Kapu community elders reportedly imposed a social boycott of the Gurajala Rajkumar who belongs to the same community.

Police said that in view of a land dispute between the family members, some persons had approached the caste elders for counselling. Reportedly, the elders demanded Rs.1 lakh amount for expenses and called for social boycott of the victims when they did not pay up.

The victims lodged a complaint with the police and brought the issue to the notice of police commissioner Kalmeshwar Singanevar. Morthad police also registered case against the community elders.
