Union Minister Asks Officials to Focus on Tribal Villages
Kakinada: Union minister of state for commerce Som Prakash exhorted officials to pay special attention to development of tribal villages, particularly while implementing the centre’s welfare schemes. Participating as chief guest of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra programme at Nadakuduru village in Karapa mandal of Kakinada district on Saturday, the minister underlined that all efforts must be made to improve the living conditions of the poor in tribal villages.
In this regard, he called upon officials to create awareness among people about the programmes that the central government is implementing for them. He underlined that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is aiming to make India a developed country by 2047. Implementation of government schemes for poor in remote areas will help achieve this goal. Kakinada district collector Kritika Shukla said that the district administration is identifying beneficiaries who have not yet utilised the central schemes during the Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.
The central schemes will be extended to such beneficiaries immediately, she stated. Yatra state coordinator Vetukuri Suryanarayana Raju, zilla parishad chief executive officer M. Ramana Reddy and district panchayat officer K. Bharathi were among those present.
