Vidyasagara Teertha Swamiji ascends Paryaya Peetha

The ascension gives Swamiji the rights to manage the daily affairs of the Sri Krishna temple and the Math for a period of two years

Udupi: Sri Vidyasagara Theertha Swamiji of Krishnapura Math ascended the Paryaya Peeta in a traditional function held at Udupi Sri Krishna temple on Tuesday. Paryaya celebrations at Udupi temple marks the commencement of the two-year term when the Swamiji will take charge of offering daily pooja to Sri Krishna. The ascension gives Swamiji the rights to manage the daily affairs of the Sri Krishna temple and the Math for a period of two years.

As per the tradition, the seer had a holy dip at the Danda Tirtha lake lake at 2.15 AM on Tuesday. He then offered Pooja to the presiding deity of his Math. Swamiji with other seers of Udupi arrived at Udupi Sri Krishna Math in traditional Paryara procession.

The seer had darshan of Lord Krishna through Kanakana Kindi. Later, he offered prayers at Chandramoulishwara, Anantheshwara temple.

At Sri Krishna Math he was welcomed by the outgoing Adamaru Math seer Sri Eeshapriya Teertha Swamiji . After having the darshan of Sri Krishna, Sri Eeshapriya Teertha Swamiji handed over the ‘Akshaya Patre,’ and ‘Sattuga,’ (vessel given by Sri Madhvacharya to his disciples) to Sri Vidyasagara Teertha Swamiji.
